If you are an SME with between 50 and 249 employees, turnover of less than 50 million Euros or balance sheet less than 40 million Euros, then please fill in the questionnaire and return it to Brian More: b.r.more@coventry.ac.uk by the 30th June for a chance of winning an IP Health Check worth £10000.It should take no more than 20 minutes of your time.

If you are not the right person to complete this,please forward it to the best positioned person in your organisation to do so.

In addition, if you are amenable, Brian would very much appreciate the opportunity to phone you to discuss the survey and explain anything which you would like clarified, or included which has been omitted.

The results and recommendations of this survey to UK Government will help your company continue to use IP as a very valuable tool in business growth.

Confidentiality

Total confidentiality will be adhered to and anonymity respected. No company or individual will be identified in the results, which will be quantitative in presentation.

Format of the Questionnaire

The survey will be in 4 short sections covering:

1. Company Information
2. Types and forms of IP
3. Uses and Valuation of IP
4. Management of IP

To establish the extent to which medium sized enterprises use IP management teams and systems, and the economic benefit realised in doing so. This project is aimed at companies in the United Kingdom which meet the European Union SME criteria.

Aim of Survey

Statistical data will be published in Brian's MBA thesis and on IRC websites and the West Midland IP Forum website (www.fillip.co.uk), the aim of this questionnaire is to use the results to enable medium sized enterprises to better manage their IP portfolios to improve profitability through best practice use of IP management tools and techniques.

Incentive to participate

3 companies will be randomly chosen to benefit from an IP Health Check worth £1,000 each, (you will be informed on or before the 1st July 2008 if you are to receive the free consultancy).
