The project delivery is by UK Trade and Investment and its partners in the region including, International Trade Teams, based within Business Links, helping businesses to expand international markets and opportunities.
The SME Internationalisation project offers eligible companies in the West Midlands a wide range of financial and direct support to enable them to overcome obstacles to success with international business opportunities.
What type of support do we offer?If you are an eligible company in the West Midlands, we offer part funding for different types of activities.
- Individual visits to overseas markets
- Introduction of new products and process improvements
- International trade strategies
- New routes to markets (joint ventures, acquisitions)
- Market research and skills acquisition
- Coaching and mentoring
Additional support – Centres of ExcellenceThere are six Centres of Excellence in the West Midlands based within the International Trade Team (ITT) and each of them focuses on different international markets:
- China – Coventry ITT
- India & South Asia – Birmingham ITT
- Middle East – Black Country ITT
- Central Europe & Russia – Hereford & Worcester ITT
- Brazil & Mexico – Shropshire ITT
- South East Asia – Stafford ITT
