The Midlands Innovation Relay Centre is hosted by Coventry University Enterprises Ltd which operates the University’s award-winning Technology Park. The Park is a supportive and prestigious location for forward thinking knowledge-based and hi-tech companies. With accommodation available from 17.3 to 804 sq m (186 to 8657 sq ft), the park offers a wide range of unit sizes in five different centres/locations to meet the long-term growth profile of its clients with flexible lease terms to assist progression.
Enterprise Centre
Completed in 2001 to accommodate existing expanding companies and larger companies wishing to locate to the Park, the Enterprise Centre, situated adjacent to the Innovation Centre, provides the perfect location for medium-sized, technology and knowledge-based businesses. The Centre comprises 17 air-conditioned units available to rent on longer-term flexible lease arrangements.
Design VillageWith a clear focus on the University's international strength in product design, the Design Village provides accommodation for small to medium-sized design companies and companies where design is an integral part of their business strategy. The first building on the Design Village is The Design Hub, comprising 17 air-conditioned units on three floors and let on flexible lease terms. It is an ideal environment and opportunity to share our own design expertise and innovative technologies with some of the most exciting young companies around, in a modern and distinctive environment.
Innovation VillageThe Innovation Village offers a range of office space and business support for hi-tech, knowledge-based businesses, with options for both leasehold and freehold on the site. With space available from 131 to 650 sq m (1410 to 6997 sq ft), the site has been developed in partnership with Real Land South Ltd and is managed by Coventry University Enterprises Ltd. Although close to the City Centre, it has characteristics of a prestigious out-of-town business park and is proving to be one of the more sought-after locations for business enterprise.
Future initiativesPlanning for the future of the Technology Park is on-going and is part of a ten-year process which continues to focus on the emerging needs of hi-growth companies. The Park links with the University's strategy to develop applied research in its strongest faculties with the following projects under development:
2006/2007- Serious Games Institute: bringing together the latest computer games technology and changing approaches to learning and training.
- Innovation and Creative Enterprise Academy: encouraging enterprises in the performing and creative arts.
2007/2008- ACT UK: The UK centre for construction management training using virtual reality simulation technology.
- Health Design and Technologies Institute: new approaches that bring together patients, healthcare professionals, retailers, suppliers and designers for the next generation of products and appliances.
